I’m not sure why I’ve run into so many articles about the gut microbiome recently, but I figured the information was worth passing on. Here are two articles for your perusal.
First up, this article from Psychology Today on how stress and the microbiome are connected, addresses the issue of the changes stress can cause to our gut flora. Although there is much sound information in this article, I will add this thought: depending on any other underlying medical issues that you may have, the dietary solutions they recommended may or may not work. That’s why I am here – to customize nutritional care to YOUR specific needs.
Next, while I do not have a link to this, Naples Daily News had an article on Tuesday, January 21, 2025, about how spending time outdoors is helpful to the gut microbiome. The article points out that not only does outdoor activity reduce stress, but it also provides us with exposure to a wide range of microorganisms, which helps to strengthen our gut flora diversity and our overall immune function.
In short, if you want to improve your microbiome, there are dietary and lifestyle changes that will benefit you. I can help you make those changes in a way that is realistic and sustainable, so you can have a better quality of life.
Have a great month and a happy start to Spring!
