Keep It Local: The Local

Today in my support for local businesses here in Naples, I decided to highlight one of my favorite area restaurants: The Local.

The Local, located at 5323 Airport Pulling Road in Naples 34109, is Naples’ first farm-and-sea-to-table restaurant. The ingredients from all of their dishes are sourced locally, sustainably, and seasonally. This ensures that their menu items are incredibly fresh!

When it comes to dining out, there is nothing more satisfying than having a good meal with good company at a locally owned establishment, where you can support your own community. As such, I have chosen to dine here several times. I have had their cobb salad, their 100% grass fed burger, their braised lamb stroganoff, and a gulf shrimp pasta dish that isn’t on their current menu. Every meal that I have had here has been absolutely delicious. The environment is convivial and homey, a great atmosphere for enjoying a night out. The waitstaff is attentive, friendly and eager to please. I have some dietary restrictions and they have always done a great job accommodating me. And the gluten free chocolate cake (yes, this Dietitian will eat a good dessert when she’s out for a special dinner…) is out of this world! If I know I will be dining here, I make sure I have room for that dessert. 😉

The Local is open 11:30am-9:00pm Monday through Friday and 10:30am-9:00pm Saturday and Sunday. During season, reservations are a must. Even over the summers, this place can still get quite busy, so calling ahead wouldn’t hurt. I can’t recommend them enough. So I hope you’ll Keep It Local by taking your friends and family to dine at The Local.
